CETME Fixup: Part 1

Posted on March 7th, 2007 in Guns by Justin

I’ve had a CETME now since October 2003 and it’s never been fired, at least not in my hands.

It’s failed to go into battery for one reason or another and I’ve never taken the time to fix it.

Until now.

On the advice of Misha step 1 is to replace the recoil spring. So, I ordered up a complete recoil assembly a few weeks ago and it arrived yesterday.

Upon initial inspection I’m unsure of just how I’m supposed to get the original CETME assembly off the stock. Upon closer inspection I see that the replacement part doesn’t exactly match the original, so I expect I’ll have to do some hand fitting or replace the stock itself.

Pictures will follow as I work my way through this.
