The Steyer M95

About 4 years ago I bought a Steyr M95 carbine, which was recently presented on Kim du Toit’s site. The last time I shot it was about 3 years ago and I found that the bolt didn’t want to pull back after firing an cartridge. I shelved it after 5 shots, presuming that the ammo was just too damned hot.

Perhaps I was wrong, I thought, so I pulled the old lady out and gave the chamber a good cleaning. Turns out it was pretty dirty still. I’m hoping that this fixes the issues I had with it previously. I’ve still got some WWII surplus ammo for it around here so I’ll try and lug it to the range next time I’m out there.
