Not Acceptable

I got a replacement power supply for my Macbook in the mail today. I fire it up this evening and see that my battery is completely drained. That figures… but it’s not charging back up!

Then I learn this is considered kinda normal. If you let your Macbook drain its battery it might destroy the battery. You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me! This is a known issue and there hasn’t been a recall?! Gah! Worse: I’m out of my warranty period I think. I called Apple Support the last time it busted (not a product defect in that case) and they said I had 37 days of warranty left. That was August 1. Yeah, I’m like a month out of warranty.

Shit!

They better cover this.

It’s my experience that most any laptop battery, if left under 40% charge or any decent length of time … will die a quick death. It has to do with the chemical nature of batteries. I’m sure this Apple issue of no charge after a full drain is no different in principle.

    We need better batteries.
