A Good Weekend

Theresa and I spent a 3-day weekend up in Traverse City, MI this weekend. It was nice.

It’s what we do instead of trying to find gifts for each other on our birthdays. They’re only 8 days apart, so a small trip works out pretty well. It’s twice that we’ve done this and it’s twice that we’ve gone to Traverse City. Nice town, plenty of places to eat, and given that we do this in early April it’s pretty cheap. This year we got a room right on the bay with a nice view, in-room jacuzzi, and plenty of space for about $80 a night.

For a quick 3 day trip cats aren’t a big deal. Just leave them a big pile of food and plenty of fresh water. We’ve got a 100oz fountain that keeps their water from feeling stale. The dog on the other hand is another matter. You can’t leave a dog alone for a whole day, let alone 3 days. So, my youngest brother house sat for us again. We sure do appreciate it when he does that.

Party? Its bad enough trying to calm down Chuck when he meets one new person! But he was really well behaved this time and he ate his food completely unlike last time. I think it helps that he doesn’t mind being outside for 20-40 minutes. This past winter was like a revolving door. Out for 5, in for 10, repeat. But this and playing this a tennis ball a bit and hes ready to relax and lay down. Remember if you want build this fence I can give up a couple afternoons a week for several week to get it up!
