Pork Spare Ribs
I’ve had a package of spare pork ribs in my freezer for a while. A few days ago they got tossed into the fridge for thawing. This morning I realized that:
1) I should cook them.
2) 6 lbs is a bit much for two people.
Grab the phone: “Hey mom. I’m cooking some spare ribs… want me to bring dinner over?” Mom: “ZOMG!! I love spare ribs. Sure!”
Two bottles of Famous Dave’s BBQ sauce, 1 small chopped white onion, a little apple cider vinegar (two glugs) and some Tobasco sauce (turn bottle upside down, whack 20 times) into the slow cooker.
Toss the ribs into the oven for 25 minutes on broil to melt away some excess fat.
Toss them into the slow cooker on low and let set. Six hours later awesomeness ensued.
I gotta do that again!
