Actually this video is the first most IPSC/USPSA folks have seen this done. Not sure that it gains a lot but it’s a neat trick.
Would that require a weakened recoil spring, maybe?

They have to be rigs tweaked for sport shooting in order to shoot low powered ammo for reduced recoil.
I thought that second video was another DEAR GOD I SHOT MYSELF IN THE LEG video for a second there…….rats.
I just did it on a stock Glock 21. I doubt they’re running light springs in their guns.
Once I got a feel for it I hit it 3 out of 3 times. Even tried it with the striker at rest, no pre-cock at all.
I tried it with my wife’s M&P9c. I couldn’t get the slide to fully run the action, but I could see how it could be possible with a full-sized gun. Strange.
