The velocity according to http://www.miltecharms.com/rifles.htm says that the round travels faster out of the Springfield. I'm guessing it's because the bolt action saves all the gas for the bullet, where as the Garand uses some of the gas to eject and chamber. It appears that the Springfield also has a greater max effective range (+100 yards). I know it's not THAT much of a difference, but I thought I'd try to make the game more playable for you. :) If you want to get technical..
