One Ounce Loads

So, the other week I went and picked up some new wads for shotgun reloading. I figured I’d try something new and grabbed some that would let me reload some 1oz loads. Your average box of store bought target ammo is going to be pushing 1 1/8th oz loads.

They work. I can miss clays with them just like the 1 1/8th oz loads. So, that’s good.

What was funny is when I reached into my shell pouch yesterday and found a shell that hadn’t kept its crimp. I reached into another pocket and grabbed a 3 dram equivalent 1 1/8th oz load factory shell to replace it.

Gave me a nice reminder as to why some folks get turned off the recoil of a 12 gauge early on. Factory loads kinda beat you up a bit. I had forgotten that.
