The owner of the local gun shop closed up to go to the SHOT show. He came back early and told me that he didn't see anything worth making the trip.

I would think that - given the competition of the P3AT and the LCP - S&W would be smart to price the Bodyguard 380 around $400. That's about what either the P3AT or the LCP go for with the Crimson Trace attached laser.

But yeah, under $500 and I'll hurt myself getting to the store to buy one...

Couldn't agree more about the Judge. I am not a revolver guy. Far from it, actually but I always liked the original Judge. It's weird - sort of like that awesome local band you saw open at a show years ago that later sold out (whatever that means) and turned into something barely resembling its former self, if you know what I mean.

The original had a clear purpose, it was well made and appropriate for what it was. It just plain worked. Now they're just one step away from selling a Judge in .50BMG that comes with a 2" barrel, stock night sights and a huuuuuuge stock red dot, mildot scope with a built-in laser and a fold-down tripod. Don't get me wrong. I love my country and I love our constitution, don't get me wrong and if want to carry a .50 BMG wheelgun I'm fine with that but sometimes I just have to wonder WTH they were thinking.

video review of the bodyguard guns. There's a good left side shot of the revolver at the 1:26 mark. I couldn't see any indication of a lock on there.
