About 5-6 years ago I got a slight itch for .22LR rifles and for some reason also happened to have a hankering for lever guns. This resulted in me picking up a budget Henry lever gun in .22LR from a pawn shop on a whim and Marlin 56 Levermatic without knowing what it was off a guy at a gun show for $120.
I still have no idea if I got a good deal on the Levermatic. What I do know is it came without a magazine and that’s why I’ve never shot it.
I’m not sure what brought this to my mind today but I hit up Numrich and found a replacement mag. I’m hoping to finally take it to the range in a couple of weeks.
I’m not much for lever guns, but I did pick up a Savage Mk II about ten weeks ago. I also bought a Bushnell scope with rimfire mounts.
It is one accurate rifle. Cheap to shoot, as well, which is good considering my current status. :)
